Silk Hollow: A City Guide
A downloadable RPG Zine
Silk Hollow: A City Guide is a digital zine for anyone who wants to take their adventuring party to a hidden magical city of Bugfolk. Written to be game/system agnostic, this world-building tool presents an adventure setting compatible with any fantasy TTRPG system.
Silk Hollow can exist in any world where friendly, diminutive Bugfolk may live in idyllic isolation - far from the trampling feet of humans and other threats. This digital zine will provide you with a detailed overview of this Bugfolk metropolis, from a local's perspective. And like any good city guide, the pages within give travelers a glimpse of the ins and outs of Silk Hollow society, history, landmarks, entertainment, and more. Learn about the migrating merchants and muses of the Lepidoptera Guild, or the venom-etched works created by the scorpion smiths of Crafthive.
As this guide is written for Bugs, by Bugs, the content may seem a little confusing to wanderers who find their way to Silk Hollow. Fortunately for you human readers, the zine also includes an outsider's perspective courtesy of Lyle, a very lost adventurer. His observations and annotations give some extra details on Bugfolk life in the "big" city - despite not fully understanding how he got here in the first place.
Flipping through the pages of this book will give you enough inspiration, local color, and adventure hooks to confidently run a Bugfolk city adventure for your own party. Or simply enjoy reading about this little world, brought to life by hand-drawn illustrations courtesy of the tremendously talented Jason Juta.
